Celebrated chef Quique Dacosta brings his unique culinary talent to Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid at Deessa, the hotel’s signature restaurant and chef Dacosta’s first offering in the Spanish capital. Located in the beautiful Alfonso XIII room, overlooking the Ritz Garden, it is the perfect setting for chef Dacosta’s cuisine, which knows no boundaries when it comes to taste.

“Historical” and “Contemporary”, two extensive tasting menus available for lunch, dinner and weekends, Deessa promises a truly unique gastronomic experience awarded two Michelin stars.

On Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at lunch time Dessa also offers “The Essence” menus encapsulating the foundation of both menus.

Overlooking the garden and terrace, Deessa offers a 10-person private dining room for intimate dinners and celebrations. A ‘Hidden Table’ offers guests the opportunity to meet the chef with a sommelier on hand to suggest wine pairings from the Hidden Table’s wines by the glass programme, featuring a selection of 250 European, primarily Spanish, wines. There is also a wide selection of artisan beers and a creative cocktail list.

Meet The Chef

Celebrated for his culinary creativity, Chef Dacosta is one of the leading lights in the gastronomic world, renowned for melding innovation with tradition always with a unique beauty, and using local produce and cultural references as much as possible.

Quique Dacosta is a master of artistic culinary expression. He began his professional career aged just 14, moving to work at the restaurant he now owns, El Poblet, in 1988. Under his leadership, different culinary styles were combined to create a new Valencian cuisine inspired by both the local surroundings and cuisines from other countries.

The restaurant, now known as Quique Dacosta Restaurante in Denia, has held three Michelin stars since 2012 and regularly receives accolades such as 'Best Restaurant in Europe'.

Using his trademark passion, Quique Dacosta will ensure Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid continues to be one of the most exciting gastronomic destinations in Spain by showcasing his unique talents in the stunning surroundings of the city’s most iconic hotel.
